BTS J-Hope Opens Up About Life After Military Service and His Emotional Journey Through 2024: ‘A Year Full of Mixed Feelings’
J-Hope completed his mandatory military service in October last year, fulfilling an 18-month commitment. He was the second member of BTS to conclude his service, following Jin, who had completed his duty in June.

As the new year began, J-Hope shared a heartfelt note with fans on Weverse, reflecting on his emotional journey through 2024, his experiences during military service, and his thoughts on life afterward. In his message, he wrote, “It’s the year 25. How was 24 for all of you? For me, 24 was a year full of mixed emotions, where I navigated through many highs and lows. It was significant because it marked my discharge from the military, but I also felt uncertain about how to get through until October. When that moment finally arrived, I felt a mix of joy and anxiety as I worried about my plans post-discharge. As the year unfolded, I experienced everything from overwhelming happiness to nervous excitement, ending 24 by reflecting and preparing for the year ahead.”

He continued, “Everyone must have experienced their own share of joy, anger, and sorrow, but let’s take a moment to comfort ourselves with warmth as we bid farewell to the past year. I hope that everyone blooms beautifully in 25! For me, 25 feels like a crucial year, one where I’ll show you a more mature side of myself through meaningful plans that bring you joy.”
J-Hope also emphasized the importance of health, saying, “To stay together through many moments, health is the most important thing, right? I hope 25 brings you luck and good health. From the bottom of my heart, I’m cheering for your first steps into the new year. Cheer up ARMY 💜🫶💜 I love you ARMY ARMY.”
